We have a 6 lb yorkie that can't get enough of the Flossies. We cut them in two and he spends 30 minutes or so chewing a half piece. Yorkies are nortorious for having dirty teath resulting in the need to have a vet do an annual cleaning. With the

Flossies, our little guy hasn't had to suffer this difficult task. We're happy, and he's happy.

4.0 out of 5 stars Not for all dogs, February 28, 2007
Dog Mom (Iowa) - See all my reviews
Today I took my small dog to the vet for emergency removal of part of her Flossie from her throat. Same caution as rawhide bones exists with these. Some dogs handle this type of chew well and others do not. This dog had previously done well with a Flossie-today was not her day.

5.0 out of 5 stars Perfect for my boxer, February 19, 2006
Mitchel (Havre de Grace, MD USA) - See all my reviews
My boxer loves these flossies. In the past I would by them individually from the local store. They are expensive snacks but I could not find them locally in bulk until I looked on Amazon. Only problem is my dog eats them fast. I'm currently trying the Jumbo Phat flossies.

3.0 out of 5 stars dental pads, December 3, 2007

This review is from: 8in1 D.D.S. Dental Wipes, 90-Count (Grocery)
The pads are sort of small, it makes it had to wrap around a finger. Once in contact w/ dog saliva they get very slippery & hard to hang onto. But the dogs don't seem to mind the taste at all.

Our dog loves the flavor so much she swallowed a dental wipe whole. Within the hour, the emergency room vet induced vomiting and the wipe was regurgitated intact. Vet indicated the wipe might have caused blockage in a small dog had we waited longer than 1-1/2 to 2 hours to bring her in.

My Maltese hates to let you look at his teeth but he loves to let you clean his teeth with these dental wipes. He loves the flavor and licks them constantly as you are cleaning his teeth and lets you do it as long as you let him lick the pad. I bought him the tin of mints but couldn't get him to eat them so I am sticking to the pads. They are a good price as they are hard to find as not all places carry them.

5.0 out of 5 stars For more economical choice, check out Pill Pockets for CATS, April 15, 2006
By

I have a 100lb dog, an Akita who HATES taking pills. She has NOT had Pill Pockets for Dogs, but she HAS had Pill Pockets for CATS. Now, before you click the "No" button after "Was this review helpful to you?", read further -- my comments will be of value to those with dogs that take SMALL pills!

Andie has been taking pills for hypothyroidism for the past 9 years. Her pills are TINY. Wrapping them in meat or cheese never worked; she simply ate around the pill or spit it out. For years the only way I could get Andie to take pills was to, literally, shove them down her throat. (My hands are small enough and her mouth is big enough for me to do this. Thankfully she's a very trusting dog!)

Then one day I was at the vet and noticed packages of something called "Pill Pockets". They had two kinds -- one for dogs and one for cats. Both came in flavors that Andie would like, but the dog Pill Pockets came in different sizes (small and large) while the cat Pill Pockets only... Read more

Amazon Verified Purchase(What's this?)
Rarely have I encountered a product that doesn't have at least ONE person who either thinks it's junk, or gives a (bogus) low review because the delivery guy accidentally dropped the package before leaving the item at the door.

As of this moment, 100% of the people reviewing the Greenies PILL POCKETS have given them a five-star rating, and I'm enthusiastically joining the crowd!

If you're a dog owner, you've almost certainly had to, at some point, give your dog a pill that he or she was reluctant to take. The usual remedy until now, (as suggested by our vet) was to simply shove the thing down the poor dog's throat, and then rub their neck to help the pill go down.

Recently, one of our dogs --a large yellow lab named Chip-- was suffering from untreatable throat cancer, but he still needed to take a number of pills to make his final days a little more comfortable. The vet specifically mentioned AVOIDING the "shove and rub" technique as it would be very... Read more

5.0 out of 5 stars Pillpockets are a Lifesaver, October 28, 2005
By
Robert White "Goldenear" (Santa Rosa, CA USA) - See all my reviews
(REAL NAME)
My dog Andy requires 3 pills 3 times a day. I started using Pillpockets almost two years ago. We have used the dreaded pill popper for many years. When the popper comes out, Andy beats a hasty retreat. We all hated it, as a lot of times the pills popped out, stayed in the popper, or he gagged on them. Since he had to have pills three times a day, it was a daily ordeal. It all changed when we tried Pill Pockets. He now looks forward to taking his pills. He loves the taste of the Pillpockets, I don't think we can now do without them. He likes them so much, we use them as treats for special occasions. They have made treating Andy a pleasant experience, rather than a ordeal. I wish I would have invented them.
